WO-STOCK

Let’s face it, I live and go to school in a backwater town that few have heard of, that for some reason, got named the second happiest city in the United States. It’s a fairly quiet part of small town America, but it’s safe enough to walk around in the bad part of town at 2:00AM in the morning without being assaulted. I still carry around a shinai, though.

Sometimes, you get used to the quiet and uneventful life here in Holland, Michigan. Sometimes, you forget that there’s a world out there, full of liberals and not densely populated by churches. Does it matter? Nah. Holland, Michigan isn’t always like this, if you know where to look. Coming up on March 19, things are going to get loud.

West Ottawa High School’s CTEE (Cultural Technological Environmental Exchange) is going to be holding their annual music festival, WO-STOCK in a couple of weeks. This event traditional offers use of multiple stages and performances all occurring simultaneously at the same time. The event lasts for two days, with over 60 bands performing. Tickets are 10USD for both nights, and 15USD for a single night. As an incentive, the first reader to find me that night will be reimbursed their ticket cost with a 15USD Amazon Gift Card, even if they only attend one night.

Check out their website at WordPress.com.

Welcome to Awakened Reality R1

Welcome to the first revision of Awakened Reality, running on the Symphony content management system. Unlike the original launch of Awakened Reality, this revision will be very much a work in progress, and that will be apparent in the way that the site is handled and how the appearance will change over time. This revision is more than just a software change and a paradigm shift from how the site was originally managed; the revision opens up Awakened Reality to address more than just writing and media. Originally, I ran a blog hosted on Wordpress.com named “MacOtaku”. During this part of my self-exploration, I was a major Macintosh and Apple fanboy. Though I am no longer a fanboy, the Macintosh is still my favourite platform for doing pretty much everything, including running Windows. In order to bring back a crucial component from MacOtaku, Awakened Reality will be opened up to the Asian experience as a whole, including Japan, China, and other Asian cultures.

This does not mean that there will be a change in content, just a diversification of content.

All content from the initial launch of AwakenedReality can be located at http://archive.awakenedreality.net/
